In Honor of Alan Hargrave
It’s with deepest sorrow that we share the passing our fellow club member and officer Alan Hargrave
December 7, 1956 — June 7, 2025
Alan was a well respected and loved Hoosier Kennel Club member and officer. His work life was as a higher education administrator, retired from Ball State University in 2021 after 35 years there as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Housing and Residence Life. Alan had a B.S. degree in Zoology, M.S. degree in Student Personnel in Higher Education from Eastern Illinois University, and his Doctorate of Education in Adult and Community Education. His work at Ball State left a lasting impression.
Alan was an owner of several award-winning Russell Terrier and Border Terrier show dogs. His dog, Dynamite, is a Multiple Best in Show Winner as well as the #1 Russell Terrier and a Top 5 Terrier 2024. Dynamite was a National Specialty Winner as well as a Best of Breed winner at Westminster Kennel Club.
Alan is deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

Due to the later time in us getting the building this year, exhibitors will likely not have access until after 6pm. Please understand this is for your safety. Be patient and allow HKC, DIKC & BIKC to get the reserved grooming marked, dog exercise pens put together, rings set up, the vendors to get set up, and everything that makes this event run smoothly. RV/Motorhome Camping & Parking
All Motor Home, Travel Trailer and Handicapped and RV parking will be first come first serve basis ONLY. DO NOT SEND MONEY IN ADVANCE. Indiana State Fair will collect all fees and handle all parking.
Overnight RV camping is available for $55.00 per night, plus taxes. 30/50 amp electric hook-up. No water, no sewer and no dump station available. Showers available. RV reservations must be made on-line and in advance by going to https://www.indianastatefair.com/p/visit/camping-information. https://www.indianastatefair.com/p/visit/camping-information.
You MUST make a reservation before arriving at the Fairgrounds. They will not collect RV fees at the gate.
Fairground parking fee per vehicle $10.00 per day.
You can purchase parking passes at the gate starting Wednesday morning. You can purchase these to get in and out of the gates as many times as you want to without paying every time. The passes are $50.00 and are good for all weekend.
